The ComeUp vol. 4: That FADED Kid
"...clothes don't make a man."
AGW: For everyone who isn't following you on Twitter or doesn't know you, who are you?
Alex: I'm just a kid that does me and trying to do something that I love. I'm 18, live in the burbs and love kicks (sneakers). I'm someone that believes that everything happens for a reason and if you wish you were someone else it's a waiste of your own life.
AGW: Tell me about your line?
Alex: We produce Tees, for now. Our goal is to produce our own stuff but, we're not trying to be a fashion label. More of a sneaker/skate boutique.
AGW: F.A.D.E.D.?
Alex: It stands for Fresh All Day Every Day. It's not about the ne wkicks or jeans you got on but, a person being comfortable in just doing him or her...clothes don't make a man.
AGW: What are some of F.A.D.E.D.'s goal(s)?
Alex: Just to get our name out there more, do somecollabs with other blogs and designers, and starting a skating team.
AGW: Ok, more focus on you, what's a summary of your style?
Alex: Um... I'd say laid back, I guess. I'm a fan of skinny jeans. I like to wear streat wear but, at the end of the day as long as my sneakers are clean and I have a hat on , I'm good. AGW: What inspires you?
Alex: The support of my family, of course. The responses that are given to the F.A.D.E.D., we ae recieving a lot of support. Also my big cousin Rolan, he's one of my hero. I want to be just like him but, make my own lane.
AGW: Besides being the front man for F.A.D.E.D., what are your other hobbies?
Alex: Well I'd say just taking it easy. If I'm not blogging or at work, it's just about being with friends. I read and I'm trying to get back into skateboarding but, I think I'll be better at sponsoring people. I'm always looking for the next show release that!
AGW: What are some ups about being a "Come Up" fashion designer?
Alex: When people by our tees, it give me a great feeling. Without support of the people a person can't be successful.
AGW: Downs?
Alex: I always feel like I've could have change something to make it better and if I'm working on projects and I miss a lot of blog updates, I feel as if the F.A.D.E.D. blogs falling behind other blogs.
AGW: Who are your favorite designers?
Alex: Nino of Fli Pelican, Nigo of Bape, and creators of 10 DEEP, to name a few.
AGW: What are your favorite clothing lines?
Alex: Clothing...I'd say F.A.D.E.D. of course, Burn Rubber, 10 DEEP, Fli Pelican, Crooks, Taylor Gang, and NDK Klothing, just to name a few. There are too many to name! (lol) but, as long as I like it I'll rock it.
AGW: What's "in" right now?
Alex: I can't really say because no two people have the exact same style, I just know what I like. So, Just doing you is in right now and always will be.

The Come Up vol. 3: A-Ville
"Music is the beginning but, not close to being the end."
AGW: For everyone who don't know you, who are you?
A-ville: My stage name is A-ville. Although, I live in Hampton,Virgina, I was born in Asheville, North Carolina. I'm a 27 year old producer, rapper, writer and co-owner of Double S Records.
AGW: Tell us about the camp you "run" with?
A-ville: Double S Records consist of myself, John Dawson, Crash Tokyo, Quiet, Ras Al Goul. John Dawson and I are in a group together called Smooth Transition, where he sings and I rap. Crash Tokyo sings and rap. Quiet is the other co-owner. Last but not least is Ras Al Goul, he is a producer as well.
AGW: How long have you been producing and rapping?
A-ville: I've been producing since 2003 and rapping since 1996
AGW: Who is your biggest influence?
A-ville: Truthfully, I'm influence by anyone who is making good music. Everybody has something to offer, some good, some bad but, at the end of the day its still music.
AGW: What artist(s) and/or producer(s) do you look up to in the game?
A-ville: The artists would be Jay-Z and Eminem. The producers would be Timberland and Ryan Leslie.
AGW: Who are some established artist you would like to work with?
A-ville: That list is very long but,a few are Lupe Fiasco, Wale, T.I., B.o.B.
AGW: Who are some other "come up" artist you would like to work with?
A-ville: I want to work with everyone, I'm not charging for features until I sell 1,000 copies out of a retailer.
AGW: Who are some of the "come up" artist you are working with currently?
A-ville: TGZ, Sticky T, CNG Boyz, Chix, Rayzor, and Fresh Dope.
AGW: What's makes you better than the next rapper or producer?
A-ville: Nothing at all. Actually, I feel as though everyone (except a chosen few) is better than I am . That's what makes me step it up when I'm making a beat or when I step into the both.
AGW: What's an misconception about you?
A-ville: I've never heard one. If you come across one, let me know lol.
AGW: What "sound" would you "classify" your productions?
A-ville: Actually, I'm in the process of creating my own sound, that's easier said then done. I would say I'm electric lol.
AGW: What would be your dream deal scenario?
A-ville: A distribution deal through E1Music, you can't get any better than that.
AGW: What is something about the music game you dislike?
A-ville: I hate the lack of creativity and there's a shortage of actual MCs.
AGW: Like?
A-ville: To be honest, there isn't a lot I like about the music game right now. It's a cut throat business but, I dont have to like it to love it lol.
AGW: What are some of your goals for 2010?
A-ville: I'm dropping five mixtapes (Four instrumental 'tapes and another called "Fed Up") this year, that's not a goal it's a promise. Other than that maybe another Smooth Transition Mixtape.

Credit for a #COMEUP
As a #COMEUP, I lack financial backing. I found steps to attain credit. It not only help in a #COMEUP situation but all who are young and with no credit history.
1. Get a secured credit card.
A secured credit card is just like a “regular,” or unsecured credit card, only you are required to put down a security deposit – typically $300 to $500 – to provide assurance to the creditor that you will repay your debt. Your credit limit is often the amount of your security deposit, or a percentage thereof.
2. Only charge what you can afford to pay off in full.
Building credit means consistently demonstrating your ability to pay back any money you borrow. Your goal is to prove to creditors and lenders that you can responsibly manage debt. That’s why it’s smart to start small – Only charge purchases that you can afford to pay off in full every month.
3. Pay on time every month.
The most important thing you can do to build and maintain a good credit score is paying all of your bills and debt obligations on time every month. Even one late payment can significantly damage your credit score, especially early on.
4. Avoid applying for numerous accounts.
Each time you apply for a credit card or loan, your credit score takes a small hit. And there’s no point to chipping away at a credit score you’re trying to build up, especially when you haven’t yet demonstrated that you can handle just one credit card. Instead, use that energy to prove to yourself that you can keep the balance low on one credit card and pay the bill on time every month.
5. Check your progress by checking your credit report and score.
After six months of timely credit card payments, check your status by viewing your credit report and score. Pay special attention to what’s on your credit report and any positive or negative factors listed, so you have a better idea of what you need to work on next. Also make sure to take a look at your credit score – It will help you make sense of your credit report and give you an idea of how well you’re doing
6. After a year, apply for an unsecured credit card.
Twelve months of timely payments should be enough to show your credit card company that you can responsibly manage debt. Now’s the time to give your creditor a call to see if you can make the switch from a secured credit card to an unsecured credit card. An unsecured card frees you from your security deposit obligation, will likely carry a higher credit limit and may offer useful perks like reward points.

Curiosity Killed the Cat: Settling
-Just warming up for getting back into the blog.-
Lately I've seen many people's (via Facebook and Twitter) stats and tweets explore the subject of settling for someone who isn't up to par or the "perfect" one for them. Seeing the multiple stats and tweets made me think about the whole thing, dating, being single, and the transition from one to another. The mention of settling sparked my interest the most and made think about the act.
Here are my thoughts on settling. I believe anyone who dates settles. Does who do not date, don't. As people we fluctuate between settling and not, consciously and unconsciously. There is no one who is perfect from the moment the two meet, in certain cases text, message or IM. If an individuals standards reflect their desires in a "perfect" mate no one will be able to meet them. Since, most people desire to have the "perfect" one, it makes since to me to settle and build from there. In settling not only do each person learn from each other but they establish an understanding as time passes. That understand leads into love, growth, and unity (in theory). Who a person settles for and the manage of the relationship to keep love there, are other questions.

The Come Up vol. 2: Isaiah

Isaiah: I am an aspiring fashion designer. I blog at http://www.dapperdakon.com/, and I have much more life ahead of me. Hopefully one you will witness.
AGW: Do you have your own line?
Isaiah: I did when I was younger. It was a t-shirt label. It was going well but, you have to dedicate to those type of things, full dedication. I couldn't juggle a "clothing" line, school, and a job. I had to focus on my career first.
AGW: With #2010 here, what are some goals you have?
Isaiah: Design more creatively. Establish everything I have accomplished. Get my blog more publicity, learn more from what I am doing, learn about every aspect, and to become far more observant than I have ever been.

Isaiah: Style is one's true personality portrayed through their personification their attire. Style is the essence of all that we are, and it's how we inaudibly express ourselves.

Isaiah: People, everyday life, music, the ugliest of things, and the things other people find weird or ordinary.
