b4 #2010
Currently I don't know if Awesome ENT (A-E) is going up, down, to the left, or if we are going anywhere. I believe this may be the case due to everyone not being committed to A-E. So before we begin our #TAKEOVER in #2010 I am going to get rid of the "extra fat" that's slowing A-E down or holding us back. A-E will be coming into the new year with committed members and possibly some fresh faces. Hopefully everything works out for the better

The Come Up vol. 1: Jay-Cro

AGW: So for everyone who don't know, who are you?
Jay-Cro: I am hustle, I am grind, I’m a Detroit rap artist named Jay-Cro Jay-Young’n, I’m hip hop in its youngest form.
AGW: Tell me about the camp you run with?
Jay-Cro: my camps are U.S.R. (United Street Regime) and Black Government. U.S.R. is my band of brothers and rap artist that consist of entrepreneurs, business men, producers, fashion experts and trendsetters. Black Gov is an even bigger camp U.S.R. is a part of the same aspect.
AGW: So now the mixtape is out, what's next on your list?
Jay-Cro: what isn’t on my list? Lol music vids, radio, blogs, my website…I got my EP I’m working on called “Young’ns in Charge” and the album “Self Explanatory” I should be dropping both in 2010.
AGW: How long have you been rapping?
Jay-Cro: I’ve been rapping since the age of 13 in middle school, didn’t get serious with it till high school though.
AGW: Who is your biggest influence?
Jay-Cro: I would have to say between MC Hammer and Barack Obama. I wanted to be just like Hammer when I was little ‘cuz it just looked dope and fun being on stage rapping and dancing so it’s been my dream since. Barack is my influence ‘cuz ever since he’s been my president I don’t know the word “cant”.
AGW: What artist(s) do you look up to in the game?
Jay-Cro: Eminem, Lil’ Wayne, T.I., and Kanye west
AGW: What is a misconception about you?
Jay-Cro: Besides being slept on, that I’m a silly rapper or I just rap freaky. I’m silly as hell and it shows in music a lot ‘cuz I put my life in my records but I can make songs about any and everything I feel is real. That’s why I call myself a universal artist. I don’t go out my boundaries ‘cuz I believe hip-hop is supposed to be a fact.
AGW: How do you feel Twitter has affected your career?
Jay-Cro: Twitter has done things for me that I couldn't have seen me doing in a million years. People ask why I’m always on twitter? ‘Cuz it’s a very powerful tool if used right, you got to know how to work it. My name has grown farther ‘cuz of twitter with gaining a fan base from all over the world, I love it.
AGW: Who are some established artists you want to work with?
Jay-Cro: Nicki Minaj, KiD CuDi, Drake, Eminem, Timberland, and Lil’ Wayne
AGW: Who is some other "Come Up" artists you want to work with?
Jay-Cro: Wiz Khalifa and Mike Posner
AGW: What would be your dream deal scenario?
Jay-Cro: U.S.R./DEF JAM or UNIVERSAL
AGW: Why do you think people look the other way when it comes to the Michigan's music scene?
Jay-Cro: because of the bad reputation we have here, people hear Detroit and think murder death kill, and most of the time that’s all hood n****s want to rap about here, and the artist that actually have something to rap about don’t get heard. But, I think the industry just need to give us an outlet and we will prove a lot of people wrong.
AGW: What do you feel is your role in putting Michigan, more specifically Detroit back on the music scene?
Jay-Cro: I don’t want to say I’m going to be Detroit’s savior but when I get on I’m a mos def put on for my city. It’s so much talent here besides me and my camp I think the world really needs to see how talented Detroit/Midwest Hip-Hop is fasho. My role would def be to open doors up for the city ‘cuz lord knows we need them.

Weekly Poem: Say
"I'm not going to say goodbye because, this isn't goodbye..." -LSB2
I don't care what you say
Even if this is our last goodbye
Say I'm no good
Say everything I should,
Have done with you
Say the reasons why I love you
Yet, dont forget the ones why I hate you
Say I broke your heart
Say because of me you no longer wanted to live anymore
Say It's that whore fault
Say the truth or even a lie
Say what ever you want
But dont say "it was because of I"
I accept the blame
Since it was over
I don't care what you say
Even if this is our last goodbye
Say I'm no good
Say everything I should,
Have done with you
Say the reasons why I love you
Yet, dont forget the ones why I hate you
Say I broke your heart
Say because of me you no longer wanted to live anymore
Say It's that whore fault
Say the truth or even a lie
Say what ever you want
But dont say "it was because of I"
I accept the blame

OFF THAT
There is always BAD news with a side of GOOD news...
So, today I official cancel the Awesome ENT's (A-E) Mixtape. Now OFF THAT and unto the GOOD news. A-E's own Stoney Ocean will release her first mixtape sometime first quarter 2010. The mixtape will be called The Princess vs Stoney Ocean. The Princess side of the 'tape will present a younger and more urban side of her music . The Stoney Ocean side will showcase a more sophisticated "grown woman" style of music. In a small breakdown Hood vs Hollywood, Old vs New, or/and Past vs Present. With the dismissal of one epic project, A-E brings forth a new and more promising one. The TAKE OVER is around the corner and with Stoney Ocean's Mixtape, A-E will be more prepared than ever.

Weekly Poem: Sweet Cherry Pie
Falling from high grace to in love with you is sweet paradise
You replenish me like warm sweet cherry pie
When I'm done tasting you
I'm beyond overdue
Let the wind inflate my lungs
And I'll retreat back into you
On account of seeing God has forsaken me
By fraying our souls from unity through desolation
I will always be me with some of you
But without my warm sweet cherry pie
There can be no I
You replenish me like warm sweet cherry pie
When I'm done tasting you
I'm beyond overdue
Let the wind inflate my lungs
And I'll retreat back into you
On account of seeing God has forsaken me
By fraying our souls from unity through desolation
I will always be me with some of you
But without my warm sweet cherry pie
There can be no I

Weekly Poem: My Love
I just felt like defining what my love is and how I know I love someone
What is my love?
My love isn't in the bulge of my light washed blue jeans
It isn't connected to the contents in my black leather wallet
It isn't produced by the strength of my voice at an early hour
My love is blind
So close your eyes and see me for who I am
Ignore every physical attraction
See the dreamer
See the ambitious writer
See the man
When I close my eyes
I see you for who you are
The heartbeat after mine
The strength behind my muscles which causes my smile
So I unravel myself and examine why I say "I love You"
As I feel your love through the sole touch of your skin
As I hear your love through your chest beating steadily
As I smell your love from your natural scent which becomes sweeter than perfume
As I taste your love from your lips after a midnight kiss
As I see your love w/ not only my eyes but my heart
I realize I love you
In your eyes I see myself
Not as a prisonor but as a giver
As a giver, I am also a reciever
I am willing to hold yours

Back With The Jump Off
BEEN GONE FOR A MIN BUT, NOW I'M BACK WITH THE JUMP OFF
So I have been gone for like two weeks and while I was away I refocused a few priorities. Also, I've experienced a few revelations or epiphanies. I've realized everyone I am pursuing my dream with isn't as dedicated to the dream, the big goal as I am. As the "Puff Daddy" of the homemade label, I should be able to ask of simple things from the "artist" and get them in reasonable time. It's not like that at all. I'm to the point where I'm ready to "fire" most of them.
So,before I could even think of "firing" the Awesome Artist, One of them quit because of an insane reason. to actually acknowledge that this was the reason for quiting on my dream and our goal is beyond my comprehension. I'm an outside the box guy w/ a wide range of open mindedness to explore people perspectives but, this is too SO FAR GONE I can't wrap my mind around it. This lead to the realization that the process I used to add member to my group isn't rigorous enough.
So, at the end of the untimely break I am coming back into the hustle, the conquest, the journey with a new mind and soon a new team. It's time to cut the dead weight and keep reaching for the stars.
PS the reason one for the members quit is because I said if you died, we would make a lot of song, (like in memory). But the interpretation that was received my the "fallen one" was I want him/her dead so I can write more songs. Like WTF is going on with people....

“The steps I am taking to achieve success in my life are.. are unique to me, myself, and I. My steps have no particular order or particular worth, in the end, it’s my hope that they all will lead to the success of my dreams. By the end of this insight on Christian Ivey, it will be clear that the dream and the few steps presented will be strong seeds that will ensure a forest of success in my life.
“My dream is to become a well renowned songwriter. I want to write the words to my heart and have the world hear them. My lyrics range from rap to alternative rock. My passion is expression. I express myself best through words. My heart beats so, I write to it.
“Steps I am doing to accomplish my dream are attending college, forming a writer based entertainment group, and wining battles against my family to stay dedicated to my craft. I’m currently in my second year at University of Detroit Mercy, majoring in Creative Writing. Awesome ENT is a group of positive individuals whose passion is to provide an original source of entertainment to the world. The battles I face with my family are their doubts that songwriting or being a poet is a logical career in this current recession. Regardless of their doubts I choose to make myself happy and pursue my dream. I see my dream and I’m climbing to it one step at a time.”

“I never can figure out an open line when it comes to writing papers, but when it comes to writing music I can write about anything.
“I’ve been writing since I was 10 years old. I was in the 5th grade and a song just came to my mind and I wrote it down and every since I have been writing nonstop. My writing went from raps to songs to movies to poems. I’m 18 so you can imagine how much writing I have done; I’ve written songs and raps for guys and girls I’m working on my 5th movie, I’m not much of a poem person, only when needed like at a funeral or for a class I will write a poem.
“In school I was the girl with a whole bunch of books in my hand but instead of school books I had notebooks full of songs, and everyone in school wanted to be in my movies. I took a radio/TV broadcasting class and I took theatre. I also wrote and directed and starred in my own play! I got a group called Awesome I write and rap for them, were putting out mix tapes and doing blogs and just networking to get our name out there. We all still work and go to school while trying to accomplish our dreams; some of us even have kids. Our style is different – we style for success. I work so hard sometimes it feels like I work too much. But opportunities never come to those who wait; they are captured by those who dare to attack.”

Curiosity Killed The Cat: Friends With A LAME LIFER
Q: What is a COOL KID?
A: A COOL KID is an positive individual who has a dream and goals. A person who is reaching towards his or her dreams one step at time.
Q: What is a LAME LIFER?
A: The opposite of a COOL KID, a negative individual w/ nothing going on in his or her life but lies, disrespect and personal misery.
I am a COOL KID and one of my oldest friends is a LAME LIFER. Despite my "friend" attempts to disguise himself as a COOL KID. He remains in a negative state of mind. So what is a COOL KID to do? Continue to be used, disrespected and lied to on daily basis by a "friend"? Or throw away years of friendships and push towards the future. Or how about something in between the both of them? The logical thing to do would be the leave the LAME LIFER alone. Is friendship logical ? What's the solution? Should I even put us in a category in the first place? In my current transition from fitting in to standing out do a I let go off all the negative to hopefully move forward in a positive direction? With more thought I realize, everyone has every answer to every question they will have. I have my answer.

"I don't know what's right and what's real anymore/ I don't know how I'm meant to feel anymore/ When do you think it will all become clear/ 'Cuz I'm being taken over by FEAR" -Lily Allen
===>So, I have been neglecting the blog lately, but it's time for me to get my hands dirty again. Over my mini vacation from the blog, I learned some one's interpretation of fear. So, here I am expressing my feelings, thoughts and questions on my newly found definition of fear.
Q: What is fear?
A: False Evidence that Appears Real.
===>Everyone experiences fear. No matter what faith or courage one may have, fear will enter into a person's life at some time. So, what is one to do when fear arises out of the depth of the shadows? My answer would be face it, which is far easier said then done. So, what strengthens a person to face a fear? Since fear is a problem or an issue, why isn't there an universal solution? Because fear is different to each person. No one fears exactly the same. The only solution to fear is in the person(s) that fears.
===>I fear... failure. I fear that I may never accomplish my dreams, mainly my dream to become a famous song writer. It's a vigorous battle every with my fear and every other day I loose. If, fear is False Evidence that Appears Real, I will identify a couple of my evidence and turn what is false into truth. I believe my lack of education, and lack of connections will hinder the succession of my dreams. To make the evidence true I will obtain a degree and network, which should dispruce my fear,eh?
===>Some say to all my answers can be solve if I just have faith. It's God, Budahh, etc. will that my life plays out a certain way or whatever. They are absolutely correct. Religion is proven to make life eaiser for it's followers, in a pyschological sense. It allow people the have an escape goat to the burdens of life. It establishes hope and a strong support team to come with it. So, why not fear God or whoever, could the answer be False Evidence that Appears Real?

A Great Writer

I am just Dubb or Chris or Ivey or Christian or w/e lol. I'm a laid back homebody who writes how he feels, you know? I'm halfway in the box and halfway out. I hate the word normal and I love turkey burgers, manga and root beer. I can't live without laughing. I only write what I feel and in the same process, I make music about real. My life is currently like I live to love, I fight to write and I lust for the fame. My biggest influence will have to be Kanye West. I think, no I know he's a genius when it comes to making versatile inspirational music. That's exactly what I want to do. I want to present the world with my original versatile inspirational music and literature. I kinda treat life like a video game lol. Final Fantasy or something like that. Except, I only have one life and no checkpoints. So, I have to "go hard in the paint" until GAME OVER. I don't think I'm the most metaphorically gifted writer or rapper. I'm just this guy from Pontiac who overdoses on expression rather it be literature, music, fashion, films, or w/e. I think my works are entertaining because of the great stories I tell. I allow people to come into my imagination and my heart, to feel me as a person in my rawest form. I am AWESOME, dope, deep, funny, passionate, creative, different, imaginative, and out of this world. That's what I bring to my lyrics.....my expression. At the end of the day it's like, "I'm not saying I'm gonna change the world, but I guarantee that I will spark the brain that will change the world". I am Christian Ivey, A great Writer
Interview With "the problem child"

AGW: Ok, your name is?
Shad: Rashad Taylor.
AGW; So, what's your stage name?
Shad: Shad.
AGW: How old are you?
Shad: 15 but I will be 16 on September 19.
AGW: Who are your influence(s)?
Shad: My brother, 'lil Wayne, and bascially anyone who raps with metaphors influence me.
AGW: So, your brother raps as well?
Shad: Yes, he's in jail right now. But he is.
AGW: So what do you think you can bring to A-E (Awesome ENT) as an artist?
Shad: A unique style of rapping.
AGW: What's so unique about your style or rapping?
Shad: I can rap without writing and it will sound like I wrote it down.
AGW: What do you think you can gain from A-E?
Shad: Different fans and to learn how to rap along with different styles.
AGW: What other talents do you have besides rapping?
Shad: I play the piano.
AGW: What make you stand out more than an established artist?
Shad: I ain't in it for the money. I'm in it because I love it, music is my life!
AGW: What is different about you or your swag?
Shad: The whole thing, I am different. I love to stand out.
AGW: What is your defintion of different?
Shad: Me, (laughs) but just standing out or not following a crowd but leading it.
AGW: Yeah, leaders are different. What are three words to describe you?
Shad: Inquisitive, exquisite, and talented.
AGW: How did you start rapping?
Shad: When I was around six my cousins listened to a lot of ''lil Wayne and I started to freestyle on the record thing...(thinks) and the rest is history.

Ten Keys To Success: Confidence
Only YOUR heart can bring YOUR dreams ALIVE
In this series of blogs I will be discussing ten different "keys" to success. First off, I want to explain my definition of success. I believe success to be the achievement of something desired by a person. From this definition it's clear that success is not the exact same for everyone. Which is why I can only show what I believe are the "keys" to me and Awesome Entertainment's success. Just like a song, this series of blogs will be entertaining.
The first "key" is CONFIDENCE, belief of someone or some thing's ability, among other attributes of a person or thing. We here's at Awesome Entertainment all believe in each other (some more than others, lol) but there's is an understanding of each person's ability and what he or she can and can not do. We believe we are or one of us, are the next big thing. So with our CONFIDENCE we push forward to our dreams with no doubt we have the talent, the drive, the ability to accomplish them.
My confidence fuels my ego. Which allows me to give myself the stage name AGW (A Great Writer). I believe I am well aware of my confidence and I don't let it cross over into conceitedness. Observance of this can be found in my stage name. It states that I believe I am a great writer , but not the best. To self declare myself the best would cross the line and hurt my progression to my success. I leave with words from Kanye West, "Coulda let the dream killers kill my self esteem/Or use the arrogance as a steam that power my dreams".

The Blueprint 3: Run This Town

I'm a HUGE fan of Jay-Z and after he official put Autotune (T-Pain voice box) to rest, I can only give him mad respect. With his anticipated album The Blueprint 3 in store September 9, I have show his latest single from it. This single feature Rihanna and Kanye West and is MOST DEF a Jay-Z track. With D.O.A and Run This Town, I am looking forward to this album. The DOPEST quote comes from Kanye West.
"It's crazy how you can go from Joe Blow/ to everyone on your dick no
